As announced in the May StayArlington e-Newsletter, the Arlington Convention and Visitors Service (ACVS) has launched a series of on-site guest intercept interviews at several local hotels. Conducted by the firm DPA (a division of Digital Research, Inc.), these surveys will update previous tourism research conducted in 2006 and 2007. The findings will provide valuable information to continue strengthening Arlington’s position as the best place to stay, shop, dine and play in the region. Founded in 1974, DPA is a leading marketing research firm for the travel and tourism industry. By early August, the firm will provide data analysis and strategic plan recommendations based on 300 visitor intercept interviews and 50 meeting planner interviews.
At the May 22 Taste of Arlington event, staff in the County’s new Mobile Visitors Center provided more than 700 residents and tourists with information on Arlington shopping, dining, lodging, attractions and events. With its primary mission being to inform guests about Arlington’s amazing array of stores, restaurants, arts organizations and service businesses, the Mobile Visitors Center may be a good fit for your next major Arlington meeting or community event. If you’d like to discuss the possibility of having Arlington’s Mobile Visitors Center at an upcoming event, please contact Monica Cannon, Visitor & Convention Services Manager, at email@example.com or (703) 228-0874.
