WHAT'S NEW
Arlington Official Map & Guide Delivered to Hotels
Shipments of the Arlington Official Map & Guide were delivered to all Arlington hotels on March 14 and 15. Please distribute the maps as widely as possible to your hotel guests. As the primary visitor information piece produced by Arlington County, the Official Arlington Map & Guide has extensive information about transportation, dining, shopping, and attractions in Arlington and D.C. It's intended to drive visitors to Arlington businesses, and to ensure that guests have the best possible time in Arlington so that they return again and again. The maps are also available at no charge to Arlington restaurants, retail outlets and other businesses that serve visitors. Please contact Kerry Lambert, Marketing Manager, at klambert@arlingtonva.us or (703) 228-0877 with any questions about the delivery, or to request a shipment of maps.
ACVS Advertises Arlington as a Hub for Civil War Tourism
Launching the first of Arlington's Sesquicentennial travel promos, ACVS is currently running advertisements in spring issues of Smithsonian, Preservation, Civil War Times and AAA World to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War (2011-2015). The advertisements, which reach a combined circulation of over 3.5 million people, encourage leisure visitors use Arlington hotels as their home base while exploring the many Civil War attractions in the region. Part of this advertising purchase was covered by a $5,000 marketing grant that ACVS was awarded by the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC). If your hotel has any special Sesquicentennial packages that can be featured on the soon-to-be-launched, new StayArlington web site, please contact Kerry Lambert, Marketing Manager, at klambert@arlingtonva.us or (703) 228-0877.
