Lubber Run Summer Concert Series | August 1
The Lubber Run Summer Concert Series features free performances from a variety of genres at the sylvan venue nestled two blocks off Route 50. The last concert of the summer will take place on August 1 at 8:00 p.m. and will feature bluegrass band, Big Howdy. More information here.

Netherlands Carillon Concert Series | August 8, 22
Enjoy sweeping views of Washington, D.C., while guest artists play patriotic music, jazz and pop on the Carillon's 50 bells. Meet on the lawn at the foot of the Carillon from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. on August 8 and 22. Make sure to bring blankets to this family-friendly event.

On Friday, August 1 at Penrose Square at sunset (8:30 p.m.), enjoy FREE outdoor movie nights. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs/blankets and leashed pets are welcome, but alcohol is NOT permitted.
Met Park Movie Nights | August 7, 21
Join the National Landing BID this summer for Met Park Movie Nights! This outdoor series will run every other Friday until September 19th at Metropolitan Park. Family-friendly movies will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. More information here.
National Park Week Bike Ride | August 29

Dark Star Park Day | August 1
Don't miss the Rosslyn favorite tradition that only comes around once a year! August 1 at approximately 9:32 a.m., Nancy Holt’s Dark Star Park (1979-84) will perform a special effect. Shadows cast by the spheres and poles of this landmark outdoor sculpture align with their permanent forms on the ground, marking the moment of Rosslyn’s founding. Learn more here.
Artist Led Workshop: "Groovy Buddha Block Prints" | August 2

Yoga in the Galleries | Saturdays in August
Make your way to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. for a unique 60-minute yoga session in their serene Tiffany Gallery. Take in the colors of the stained glass as you relax into yoga poses and enjoy a creative doodling and writing session following the class.
Around the Hearth | August 13
Enjoy an encore performance of "Around the Hearth", a play about the people who have lived in the oldest building in Arlington County, Families living in this mid-18th century farmhouse experienced colonial Virginia, the American Revolution, the tumult of the 19th century, and the growing pains of the 20th century. Argentine Tango Night! | August 20
Head to 3 Whistles Cafe every third Thursday for a free Argentine tango lesson at 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm meant for all levels. Afterwards, dance the night away to a milonga from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm with fun tunes by DJ Harvey Schwarz.
