Lomax AME Zion Church & Cemetery
Overview
Lomax AME Zion Church is one of Arlington's oldest continuing black churches. First led by Reverend Richard Tomkins as Little Zion Methodist Church in 1866 in Freedman's Village, the congregation later met in the nearby home of Levi and Sarah Jones before moving to their own one-acre site in Green Valley purchased for $75 in 1874.
