The Clarendon Alliance proudly presents the Music by the Metro - Clarendon Concert Series. The series for 2025 is live, Thursdays, with four FREE concerts in May!
May 1: Zedicus
Prepare to be transported to a world of mesmerizing rhythms and soul-stirring melodies with Zedicus, the dynamic world music, reggae and jam band artist taking the music scene by storm. Hailing from the culturally vibrant Washington DC area, Zedicus has crafted a sound that defies boundaries, fusing reggae, rock, alternative, and world music into an irresistible sonic tapestry.
May 8: Mama Moon and the Rump Shakers
Mama Moon and the Rump Shakers, a dynamic 6-piece blues fusion ensemble hailing from Washington, DC, burst onto the scene in June 2021. Infusing a distinctive creativity into the blues genre, they honor its soulful roots while crafting a unique musical identity. At the helm is Mama Moon, renowned as DC's Goddess of the Blues and the barefoot blues sensation. The band enthralls audiences with a vibrant stage presence and an eccentric sense of style that sets them apart.
May 15: Kiti Gartner & The Drifting Valentines
Kiti Gartner & the Drifting Valentines is a band out of Washington DC who play western swing, rockabilly, old country and some jump blues. Their influences include music from the 1940s and on, including almost everything that came out of The Quonset Hut and RCA Studio B in Nashville, Sun Records and Bakersfield. Kiti Gartner (vocals and rhythm guitar), Zachary Sweeney (lead guitar), Steve Wolf (upright bass), Brian Alpert (drums).
May 22: Veronneau
Led by Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau, and UK guitarist Ken Avis, VERONNEAU have had 3 Top 10 charting albums and over a million Spotify streams of their version of La Mer. For this band its all about the song, as they mix original compositions with classics from the world of bossa nova, french chanson and swing, performed in English, Portuguese, French and Spanish.
